Painted and close-studded leather-covered trunk with swan-neck end handles, on castors

A leather-covered trunk with a hinged rectangular top, decorated throughout with painted borders of flowers and gilt foliage on a dark ground, framed by close-nailed rows of domed studs. The front carries swagged stud decoration around an oval keyhole escutcheon, and each end has a metal swan-neck carrying handle; the whole stands on small castors. The interior is of plain pale timber, the lid held open on chains, and wear to the leather shows at the edges and around the lock.
