Each candlestick is modelled as a stout infant striding across a naturalistic rockwork base, one arm swung out for balance while the other holds a gilt-metal drip-pan and nozzle overhead. The figures wear knee-length trunks with a punched texture, bound with gilt lines at the waist and knees, and the pair are mirrored in pose and closely matched in height. The dark surfaces are polished, with bare timber showing at the rear of each base.
