Gilt-metal mounted chaise longue

A chaise longue with a scrolled end sweeping into a shaped back that falls away towards the foot, raised on carved scroll legs with gilt rosette bosses on brass castors. The seat rail carries raised panels applied with gilt-metal recumbent winged figures amid foliate scrolls, with a gilt husk drop to the scrolled end and pierced palmette sprays at the angles and legs. Upholstered in rose-red velvet with a long squab cushion, rectangular pillow and round-ended bolster, all trimmed with twisted gold cord; the pile shows rubbing and the cord trim is loose in places.
