Pair of dark-patinated sleeping lions on stepped plinths

A pair of recumbent lions modelled asleep, each with its head resting on crossed forepaws and a deeply worked mane falling over the shoulders, raised on rectangular plinth bases with moulded edges. The dark surface is rubbed to soft highlights over the manes and haunches, and each tail drops over the base edge, ending in a tufted tip. The closing plates show a second, larger recumbent lion with its head raised, photographed alongside the pair; whether it forms part of the lot is to be confirmed.
