Green-painted and parcel-gilt Salter "Albion" weighing machine

A tall personal weighing machine, painted green throughout and picked out in gilt, the large circular dial in a polished brass bezel raised on a slender column with gilt collars and leaf-cast mounts. The dial is printed "No. 214.S SALTER 'ALBION' WEIGHING MACHINE, TO WEIGH 20 Stone by 1 lb. 280 lb. by 1 lb., MADE IN ENGLAND". The black standing platform is bordered with beaded gilt studs and sits on a stepped, shaped base lined in gilt.
