Pair of large two-handled vases with flared lobed rims, decorated in iron-red, blue, green and gilt

A pair of large vases, each with a baluster body rising to a trumpet neck and a shaped, lobed rim edged in gilt, applied at the shoulder with a pair of coral-red scroll handles. The decoration is arranged in shaped panels reserved on a dense iron-red ground: birds among flowering and red-leafed branches on the bodies, a figure panel to one neck and a flower panel to the other. Bands of blue lappets circle the feet, and the inside of each rim is painted with flowerheads on a green trellis.
