Burr-veneered bureau bookcase with mirrored doors and broken-arch pediment

A tall bureau bookcase in boldly figured burr veneer with feather-banded borders, the broken-arch pediment mounted with three turned finials over arched mirror-glazed doors. The fall opens to a fitted interior of scalloped drawers and pigeonholes about a fluted, arched centre with a tooled writing surface, above four short and two long drawers on bracket feet. Engraved gilt-metal handles and escutcheons throughout; the mirror plates are heavily age-spotted.
